Background Information
I am a strong believer of the saying ‘music comes from within and every soul has it’. The role of a music teacher is therefore to awaken this inner music, then sophisticate it; which is exactly what I love to do.
After over six years of working as a music instructor, my teaching skills have been polished. During these years, I’ve had the honour of grooming young violinists & pianists, and teaching them about the importance and beauty of classical music (I myself am very passionate about classical music).
Being a dedicated music tutor, I develop targeted syllabus for each one of my students individually, and I’m also very good in record keeping and maintaining independent e-portfolios. I’m very comfortable with all aspects of the standard music syllabus (such as the ABRSM, Trinity & Suzuki methods), including teaching musical concepts (such as duration, pitch, dynamics, tone color, texture and structure) as well as performance, composition, reading and listening skills. I have a solid understanding of these concepts and skills in the context of various musical styles, periods and genres.
I have excellent classroom communication and professional presentation skills. My empathy and my interpersonal skills enable me to freely discuss any matter of concern with both students and parents of diverse social backgrounds.
