Learn about animal habitats and how to care for different animals.
English language requirements:

You can introduce oneself, understand and use everyday phrases. You can tell me a little about yourself, where you live, your daily activities or talk about your favorite things!

Lesson details

Lesson 1: Farm animals
Wednesday, January 12, 5-5:45pm

In this lesson children will learn and practice farm animal vocabulary and prepositions of place. They will learn about different types of farming activities, livestock and about farming in general. Children will discuss why we need farms, and share experiences. Children will play a animal guessing game.
Materials needed at home: Pencil and paper
Homework: Create your own farm drawing

Lesson 2: Pet animals
Wednesday, January 19, 5-5:45pm

In this lesson children will learn and practice vocabulary about animals that are pets. They will learn about different types of pets and how to care for them. They will explore and discuss animals as pets in different cultures and areas of the world. They will practice dialogue and share their interests They will learn and sing a song about pets. Each child will have a short presentation of their own pet, or an animal they wish they could have as a pet.
Materials needed at home: Pencil and paper
Homework: Interview someone who has a pet and make a document from your interview. Can use photos or video, or writing or drawing.

Lesson 3: Wild animals
Wednesday, January 26, 5-5:45pm

In this lesson children will learn and practice grammar about future tense and vocabulary about wild animals. They will learn and explore animal habitats from around the world. Children will learn a new song and sing together. Children will play a guessing game with their classmates.
Materials needed at home: Pencil and paper
Homework: Zoo word scramble, writing assignment

Lesson 4: Insects and bugs
Wednesday, February 2, 5-5:45pm

In this lesson children will learn and practice vocabulary and grammar about insects and bugs. We will discuss about caring for animals. We will collaborate in singing a song and creating lyrics for the song. We will play an insect & bug movement game.
