Initial meeting can be done Sunday-Thursday also during school timings.
Initial meeting is to understand the needs of your child and that will be followed by interviews with Shadow Teacher Candidates at no extra cost.

Background Information
A shadow teacher also called as learning support assistant is an educational assistant who works directly with a single special needs child. Shadow teachers are extensively trained to help the student interact with others, assist with the child's school work, instill responsibility, foster independence and encourage learning. A shadow teacher's services are very beneficial and can increase the child's quality of learning and overall classroom experience.

What are the benefits of a Shadow Teacher?

For the child: Behavior management, Social interaction and communication enhancement, Independence and character building, Educational enrichment

For the parents: Shadow teachers act as the parent's extension in school through the guidance and support they provide the child in school. Parents will be able to monitor their child's performance and activities in school through daily communication with the shadow teacher. Sense of security for the parents as their child is being accompanied by an adult.

For the school: Through a collaborative effort to meet the special needs of the child. Aid in curriculum planning, modification and implementation of specific programs.

We at CHILD Center UAE are driven with a goal in reaching kids with different abilities and their families. We aim to offer them our helping hands in a way they will not feel they are different from other kids. All our Learning Support Assistants or Shadow Teachers are carefully selected with different background, experiences and specialties. Some of them are Special Education Teachers, Occupational/Speech Therapists, Certified Nurses, Child Psychologist, Guidance Counselors, School Principal or Academic Teachers in their home countries. Our LSAs are from the Philippines, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Tunisia, Kenya, Cameroon and Spain. Even though they are from different countries, they share a common denominator which is they are all Mothers.

LSAs work under the Supervision of Case Manager/Supervisor (1-2 visit/month). Main responsibilities include: Coordination with the school with regards to IEP and Regular progress report/update of school activities and goals.

Note:
Monthly salary is 6500 AED/month for full time. This will be adjusted based on the exact number of hours your child needs. Shadow Teachers only work during school hours.
