Tutoring Experiences:
London UK
- GCSE - she's been tutoring a bright young student in both IGCSE Business and Economics by creating a strategic plan that ensured we built a solid foundation of the core concepts included in the Cambridge IGCSE syllabus. Additionally, she utilised past paper questions frequently to cement his understanding and application of the theory to optimise coursework and examination preparation. The student now
consistently achieves A+ grades in weekly assignments, his schoolteacher’s feedback confirms a vast improvement in his written work and verbal participation, stating the student can now expect to achieve top grades in both subjects.
- A-Level - An Economics student she tutored was struggling to grasp basic concepts at the start of the academic year, for example, the law of diminishing returns. By providing real world examples, easy-to-understand analogies and also incorporating the interests of the student, facilitated a depth of understanding of the basic topics. I then built on these by introducing more complex topics which he could
take in his stride thanks to his increased confidence and motivation. The student successfully achieved A* grades (90% +) on all assessments and now wishes to pursue a Bachelor’s in Economics.
Hong Kong, SAR
English as a Foreign Language (EFL) - Whilst completing her year abroad at City University HongKong, she took the initiative to organise weekly group tutoring sessions with local university students seeking help to improve their English speaking, reading and writing skills. Having taught over 100 hours during her
exchange, she was able to help over 20 students develop greater confidence in speaking English as a second language.
Cancellation Policy
Our standard cancellation policy is that cancellations within 24 hrs may still be charged at the full rate. It is at the discretion of the tutor, and the circumstances are taken into consideration. We tend to advise tutors to give the benefit of the doubt to the client in the first instance, and politely remind them, then they are fully in their right to charge for repeat offenses, but they must notify the client they will do so so it isn't a surprise bill.
