After you book, your physiotherapist will call you to schedule the sessions based on your availability.
Pediatric physiotherapy sessions are provided by Ms. Surya Levin, DHA licensed physiotherapists with experience in adult and pediatric physical therapy.
Surya understands how a child’s motor performance develops, and how it is related to the child’s cognitive development and she believes that children with special needs can certainly benefit from regular home physiotherapy and other services like massage therapy. Her major goal when treating pediatric patients is to enhance function and mobility and promote participation in home, school, and community activities.
Some of the conditions she treats are:
• Developmental delays
• Cerebral palsy
• Genetic disorders
• Orthopedic disabilities
• Heart and lung conditions
• Birth defects (such as spina bifida)
• Muscle diseases
• Muscle coordination concerns
Physical therapy at home will help them increase and maintain muscle strength, increase coordination, decrease pain, decrease muscle spasm, decrease swelling and inflammation of joints, prevent contracture, promote mobility through walking or use of wheel chair and increase ability in daily activities such as self-care and play.
Surya also offers education to parents on the disease and will teach the different exercises that can be performed by the family members.
A minimum of 4-hour notice is required. Cancellations after this period will incur a payment charge of 50% and a 100% payment charge for cancelation on nurse arrival.
